Mike Drye Partner
Download vCardMike is a partner at Wall Esleeck Babcock LLP. His practice focuses on business transactions, corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contract matters and general corporate law. Prior to joining Wall Esleeck Babcock, he was a partner at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice PLLC in Winston-Salem.
Mike is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Business Law Section, and the Forsyth County Bar Association. Mike has been actively involved in the primary pro bono initiative of the Business Law Section, the NC LEAP program, by providing legal services to individuals and small business owners in North Carolina.
He received a J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990 and a B.S. in Business Administration (concentration in accounting) degree from the University of Central Florida in 1978. Prior to law school, Mike was a Certified Public Accountant and worked for an international public accounting firm performing and supervising audits of public companies.
Mike has extensive experience representing companies of all sizes with respect to mergers, acquisitions and dispositions. He has prepared and reviewed Securities Exchange Act periodic reports for both NYSE and NASDAQ listed companies. Mike also devotes a significant portion of his practice to advising clients on entity formation, debt and equity financing, and the structure and formation of joint ventures. Mike has advised both public and private companies on a wide range of issues related to corporate governance, including the fiduciary obligations of directors, director independence and the structures and compositions of their boards of directors.
Mike is included in The Best Lawyers in America (Mergers and Acquisitions Law) and holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Mike is a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he has served in several capacities, including youth ministries. Mike and his wife, Laura, live in Lewisville and have three grown children.
