Paul is an associate at Wall Esleeck Babcock LLP. Prior to joining the firm, Paul practiced at WilmerHale in Washington, DC. While at WilmerHale he served as a senior associate in the firm’s securities department where his practice focused on a broad range of corporate, securities and regulatory matters. Earlier in his career, Paul was a fixed-income analyst at Wachovia Securities where he held his Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses.
At WilmerHale, Paul advised and represented large financial services companies with respect to regulatory and compliance issues; mergers and acquisitions; investigations and proceedings brought by various federal and state regulators; and other matters involving the development and distribution of complex financial products.
While in Washington, Paul was an active Big Brother and served on the board of the DC Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area. Additionally, he serves on the alumni board of Queens University of Charlotte. Paul also has provided pro bono law services to a number of clients, including disabled veterans and public charter schools.
Paul received a J.D. degree with Honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2004, where he served as Articles and Notes editor of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. During law school, Paul worked at the North Carolina Banking Commission and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Paul received a B.A. degree magna cum laude from Queens University of Charlotte in 2000, where he received the Hugh L. McColl Jr. Award.
Paul is admitted in North Carolina, New York, and the District of Columbia.
